Established in 1946The roots of Bible Fellowship Church trace themselves back to late 1931 to an evangelistic outreach held for nine weeks in an old tobacco warehouse, then standing on the north-east corner of Hampton Avenue and Magnolia Street.
A small, but dedicated group of people who were saved during the crusade begin to meet together and study the Bible. They were interested in sharing what they were learning and seeing other souls saved. For more than 12 years the group continued to meet for prayer and Bible study with various members of the group leading. They would meet at 8 a.m. on Sundays and Thursday nights so that everyone might attend his or her own church. On August, 26, 1945, under the leadership of Rev. Nelson Malkus, 20 charter members established Bible Fellowship Church. |
